I recently moved from Alaska to Wisconsin and had to part ways with all my powder and primers. The problem that I’ve encountered while restocking is that I can not find any BLUE DOT for my 8 Bore Dbl. Blue is the only powder I’ve used and have data for. The person that I got the info from is not around anymore so, my question is. Is there a compatible powder that I can use. Have access to Ffg but wish to stick with smokeless. Thank you.

According to burn rate, Winchester 572 and Accurate number 7 are close.

Vihtavuori 3N38 is even closer in burn rate and is also a bulkier powder than the two Saeed mentions, giving better case fill.

For certain loadings it impossible to beat the Dot powders, Red, Blue, and green. I'll add Unique to that list.
