I’m reloading for my CZ 550 458 Lott with Hornady 500 gr. DGX and DGS bullet....I am using VV N-140 Powder, CCI magnum primers and Norma brass. Can anyone look up in Quick load the velocity and pressure for these following changes:

N-140: 81gr.
N-140: 82gr.
N-140: 83gr.
N-140: 84gr.
N-140: 85gr.

Is there a difference in pressure between the 500 gr. DGX and 500 gr. DGS bullet ?

Thanks guys,
Ingvar Kristjansson

no data on the powder, it has been MY experience that the dgX got a hair faster than DGS, which defies conventional thinking

I would back down one grain and a half when using the solid. They should still have the same point of impact.I`ve used N-140 but I can`t find my data.I must have had issues or I would have stuck with this.

That us nor ally good advice however the dgs and dgx are exceptions. Same core cup and jacket is used and the solid isn't longer

Thanks Jeff.I`ve used the DGS and DGX with the same powder charge with no issues.I got the idea to back off a grain and a half when i was developing loads with the 550gr Woodleigh bullets for my lott.I found that reaching high energies with the 550`s was a sensitive thing that would create too much pressure with the same charge as used on the soft. That said I still don`t trust solids.I see the way they can foul-up a bore and the effort it takes to remove a streak of steel and copper(or whatever it is)on the lands.
