Rounds are too big for my el cheapo Midway impact 'hammer' bullet puller.

What will work for some 416 Rigby loaded rounds?

Put the loaded round in the loading press, with not die installed.

Pull the arm down, and get hold of the bullet with a pair of adjustable pliers, with some tissue paper to protect the bullet, and pull the arm up.

That is the way we do it here.

Saeed's way works for me, too, except I use a small piece of leather to protect the bullet.

Never pulled one from a Riby but use a RCBS collet puller for other 416s

As usual just my $.02

I have a couple of collet pullers if you're interested. Just need a 416 bit for it.

I use a RCBS collet puller when pulling bullets from .404 cartridges. The 44cal collet works fine on the .423" bullets but may not come down enough to grip .416" bullets. Easy enough though to use a thin wrap of leather inside a 44cal collet to do the job for 416 bullets.

I use an RCBS collet puller. I have used it when I decided a whole batch needed to be disassembled for salvage, it paid for itself easily in one application.
