I was reloading some 30 carbine ammo and encounter some Lake City ( 52 ) brass with three holes under the primer. The primers were staked or crimped in place. ( I gave up after trying to decap 2 of them ) Has anyone seen this or know why the 3 holes???
Thanks for any response.

Chinese made "Covert" ammo, NOT Lake City Arsenal ammo.

I've only come across some totally unmarked 43 Spanish brass with the extra large berdan primer that had 3 flash holes. Most of the berdan-primed cases have two or one flash hole.
Can't address the matter with Lake City brass...
