Can you guys recommend a jacketed bullet for 45 colt saa, I have a AWA (American Western Arms)1873 colt. Im looking at Speers 200 gr, 225 gr .451 dia. Whats the story on hornadays .451 and .452 dia jacketed bullets? Reading the my manual, it says modern 45 colt revolvers take a .451 dia jacketed bullet

i use the 200 grain speer jacket HP (aka flying ashtrays) in my ananconda and they shoot accurate enough. Being that you are using a SA I wont share my load with you though. Suffice to say that they do not "rattle" down the bore

The 250gr HP-XTPs shoot nicely in my Ruger BH. My loads are too hot for the SAA clones though they are safe in the BH. I've never heard of a problem shooting the .452 diam. bullets in the the 45LC

jeffeosso, I am quite new to the 45 Colt world… I thought the .454 was a non-jacketed bullet diameter… and .452 was for Jacketed bullets. As always your input is appreciated T

T. generally one goes over .001 or .002 for cast bullets. I have heard of, but never seen, the larger-than-standard 45 colts .. I seem to recall some plated bullets to .454 opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round?
