I was thinking in trying the remington bulk bullet in 165 sp in my 30-06 my choice of powder in 44-45 grains of IMR3031 and 54 grains of 4350.
I see remington has no loading chart was wondering if you can use hornady data when loaded rem: bullets

I have used many hundreds of the bulk Core-Lokts, in 4 rifles. I used the dada from my manuals and have had no trouble.

I try a lot of the core-locs in different calibers because of the price to see how they shoot,in my rifles from 224 to 308,they shoot quite well but have a shooting buddie that has a hard time getting them to shoot in any of his rifles.
You can check out the IMR web site for loading info also.My favorie load for a 165 core-lock in 30-06 is 57.5 grs of IMR4350,best I remember off hand it was 2830 fps out of a 22 in barrel. The 150's shot very good also useing max load of R15.

I use the 150 grain bullets in my 30-30 Contender with load data from the Lyman 47th edition with great results.

Hey Lonewolf, I shoot a WHOLE BUNCH of both the 30cal 150gr and 165gr Remington bullets. I've noticed the accuracy to vary a bit from Lot-to-Lot, but not so bad as to make them un-usable. Some Lots are amazingly accurate for the cost.

I agree with the others to just use regular reloading data from a couple of Manuals and watch for all the normal Pressure Indicators as you Develop the Load.

I have a hunting partner, an older man who has used the Core Lock Remington bullets over the years & swears by them. He has taken many Elk over his liftime using the core lock bullets.
Just use reloading data for the same weight bullets. Will be close enough.
Best Regards,
Tom

lonewolf--Lyman does not make bullets,so their manual will not specify a brand of bullet. Hornady and Speer for example do make bullets so they will show their bullet. You can substitute the data. I have used both Remington and Winchester bulk packed (more so Winchester). I have used the bulk packed Winchester in .243 for years. I have read for years on some of these boards that a .243 is marginal on deer and requires a premium bullet. If that is true then they are a premium bullet.

I've only used the remmington bulk bullets for the 358 winchester... and they worked fairly well, though perhaps not as consistant as the sierras

The Remington Core-Lokt bullets are one of the first commercially available "controlled expansion" bullets. a successor to the early Peters "inner-belted" bullets. While they are not the same in this respect as some of what we now call "premium bullets", they are an improvement over the frist jacketed softpoints which were too soft for .30/'06 velocities.

In addition, I have had some very good accuracy results using Core-Lokt bullets. For game up to the size of big mulies and even caribou, there is no need for another type of bullet.....

I am still shooting from a batch of 1000 Rem .30 cal 165 grain corelokts I bought several years ago to use as practice ammo for my M1A. I could not tell a difference in performance between the Remingtons and Sierra or Hornaday match bullets, and the Remingtons can be had way cheaper than the match stuff.

I just bought 500 Remington 405 Gr. bulk Core Lokt in .45-70 from the new Cabela's that just opened by me. $70.99 for 500 was a good price. The in store price was over $85.00. A took the Fall Shooting Catalog with me and got the cheaper catalog price. My Guide Gun and BFR Revolver loves the 405 Gr. Remingtons. Bill T.
