I use a lot of it in various things. They are interchangeable. I mean the W760 and H414.

Just bought a pound to load for my Ruger No. 1 in 7X57. Many swear by it for cartridges in this capacity range.

I use it in my son's 260 Rem & my 338/06. I have both a 270 and a 280 but haven't tried it in those.

The 260 load data is 44.5gr under a 120 Sierra Game King. Very accurate round and not at max. I can't remember the load for my 338/06 but it will shoot quarter sized 5 shot groups with a 200 gr Speer or a 210 gr Nosler...providing I do my part.

30+ years experience tells me that perfection hit at .264. Others are adequate but anything before or after is wishful thinking.

I was expecting the more modern Ramshot ball powders to replace these old "veteran"s.

I have seen extreme velocity change on a really cold day (NZ standards - about 45 degreed F) - a 270 Win shot about 300 fps slower than on a normal day with W760 powder. My 280 AI shot about 50 fps slower on the same day with VV N160. BTW - N160 or even better is N560 is a great replacement for H4350. You will probably end up with 1 or 2 grains more as your top load. Please use usual care and caution in developing your load.

I used to work with an American 15 years ago in an Animal Pharma company and he referred to the old farmers who stuck to the ancient Warbex for their sheep as "Camel smokers"! LOL!

I wish we could get the modern double based temperature stable Ramshot powders here in NZ.

afore (sic) i discovered h335, 760/414 was of my favorites, with 740 with there ---

now i load "all" rifle carts with h335, from 223 to 550 express ...

why? obviously it isnt the best powder for all of these, but it works darn well in everything ... and since 2009 (after the 2008 election) its easier to have 1 powder for rifles and to be able to hunt/reload/shoot than hunting for other powders

I have used it for years.
From the 22-250 to the 30-06 and maybe some larger bores.
It is the go to powder for my 7x57.

Yep! I quit even trying other powders for that round a long time ago. Love the way it meters.. Accurate and consistent loads are a snap. Makes powder tricklers obsolete.

I load the 260 lately, and 30-06 for years,with H 414.
In the 260 45 grains under a 120 Rem Cl. 41 grains under a 140 Rem CL
In the '06 Too many to mention. Mostly 180's

Ramshot Hunter and Big Game work in both as well. Hunter better in the 260 if you looking for velocity with heavier bullets.

H414/WW760 is very close to a ball counterpart to IMR-4350. That's not at all to say that they are interchangeable, just that cartridges/bullets that do well with one are likely to do well with the other. One difference is that the ball powders are denser than the stick powders, so you can get a bit more into the case when the powder is marginally on the slow side for a given bullet/cartridge combination.

I use it in a few cartridges, it is excellent in my 375 Weatherby, 25-06, 270 Win, 338-06 and 404 Jeffery. Have used it in 22-250AI with good results, but, chose Varget due to it's more uniform velocity.
It is a very versatile powder and proves more stable in temp than many would lead you to believe.

Cheers.

It can be quite a handy option if loading the long Barnes TTSX projectiles in 30.06 that take up quite a bit of internal space in the case. Especially if reaching reasonable velocities is the objective. Compared to extruded powders the fine spheres pack into the case better giving a useful charge that surpasses charges possible with bulkier extruded kernels.

Yep. H414 and W760 are the same powder.

W760 is the go-to powder for my Sako 375 H&H with bullets of 285 and 300 grains and heavier.. Nothing matches it for accuracy..

I have used it in 30-06 as well as 308 in the past, but now only use it in my 375.

I use it in my .270, 30-06 and 375 H&H. It's probably the nicest powder for how it flows and how consistent the charges are.

I found that W760 was by far the best powder when loading for the 30/06, .270 and .280 and I was able to get excellent velocity and accuracy. To give you an example, I could get 3100 fps with a 140gr Accubond out of a 22 inch Remington 700 Mountain Rifle that was a constant 0.75 MOA, using 60.3grs W760. That was a warmish load, but there were no signs from the rifle - or on the cartridge case of it being a hot load - though common sense dictates you drop that load by a couple of grains and work up to be on the safe side in your particular rifle.

It just seemed that the above mentioned cartridges performed their best with loads hovering around 60grs to 60.5grs W760

I use 760 with 130 grain Barnes bullets in a 300 Win Mag for medium game. The load is out of an earlier Barnes manual and clocks an honest 3600 fps from my Colt Light Rifle. At least as honest as my Chrony can be,

I use 760 as my powder of choice in my 260Rem and my 243ai. High velocity and very accurate. In the 260 I am using it with a 130 NOSLER Accubond for white tail. Best cold barrel first round load I ever found. thanks chad
