I the 6.5 JDJ case is based on the 225 Win (read hard to find brass) for use in the Contender by J.D. Jones. I "think" the vel ran ~2000/2100 fps with 140gr bullets from a 14" bbl. Sorry I can`t help more.....Joe

The 6.5 JDJ is based on the 225 Win case. They still make this cases as far as I know. SSK Industries (JD Jones) who developed this cartridge has the brass. The 6.5 performes extremely well. 120 grain bullets out of a 14 in barrel are running 2400 fps and kill way bigger than the diameter of the bullet. Most 6.5 bullets are designed for the older cases ie Jap, 6.5x55 etc. therefore expand well at pistal velocities. Bottomline , it's a keeper. Check out: Ciao Mike
