![]() CAVEAT NOTE BENE I'm not trying to propigate the idea that it is intelligent or safe to push .310 diameter bullets down a .308 barrel. It is something that from time to time I test. ![]() Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! Roger do you notice any higher pressures from the .310 bullets? I have shot .310 cast, in my 308 and it didnt seem to make any diffrences in pressure at all. I did have more lead fouling than normal. I was using Hurco powder and it was a dirty load anyways | |||

Not from the mild loads I've shot. It seems obvious to me, however , when you are using the faster burning powders that there exists the danger that with enough powder ( maybe not a lot) excessive pressure may occur before all of the bullet leaves the throat. If I get terribly nervous I'll ask Clark to do the testing, wherever he may be. ![]() ![]() Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward.
