CAVEAT NOTE BENE
I'm not trying to propigate the idea that it is intelligent or safe to push .310 diameter bullets down a .308 barrel. It is something that from time to time I test.

hivelosityRoger do you notice any higher pressures from the .310 bullets?
I have shot .310 cast, in my 308 and it didnt seem to make any diffrences in pressure at all.
I did have more lead fouling than normal.
I was using Hurco powder and it was a dirty load anyways

Not from the mild loads I've shot. It seems obvious to me, however , when you are using the faster burning powders that there exists the danger that with enough powder ( maybe not a lot) excessive pressure may occur before all of the bullet leaves the throat. If I get terribly nervous I'll ask Clark to do the testing, wherever he may be.
