Hey Y'all: Maybe y'all could save me some money and help me chose the right ballistics program or choose not to use one. I want a ballistics program that will predict the trajectory of a load, suggest loads with certain powders (or at least have a big database of loads) and serve as a reloading log. What's the best that would fit that criteria? Here are the ones I've looked at. I appreciate comments from users. AccuLoad / Calculoader $89.99 Load From A Disk $59 RSI Shooting Lab $99.95 Barnes $49.95 (External Ballistics Only) RCBS Sierra $64.95 Thanks, QD [ 01-02-2003, 04:33: Message edited by: quickdraw ]

I do not use my ballistics program for loading data because with 45-70 it comes up with some loads that I KNOW my TC would not survive and don't know if a Ruger #1 would either. For other things it seems to be in the ball park, but so are all of my manuals. Like it for what ifs with bullets and trajectories though, but Q-ball will do those pretty well. I can't recommend Accuload II. The database is incomplete and the software will often not calculate loads, even when all other data has been inputed. I e-mailed them about the problem and subsequently got a CD with "fixes" on it, but the problems remain.

the point blank ballistics software at huntingnut.com is the CATS MEOW!!! no more saving targets with written info on them. this program allows you to recreate your target with all the relevant information. it's better than sliced bread
