#1 shell plate for 243 22/250 30/06. Will it work for any case that has a .473 rim?

What am I gonna do with air I have found one thing out today. Its been a pain trying to get 38 spcl. cases to feed.
the bushing for the toggle cam has droped out twice. tried to wrap a little Teflon tape around It Helped for about a minute. any \one have any suggestions

A bit more info please.
Are cases tipping? Is the timing of the shell plate off and base of case hitting edge of plate?

Without more information I would first see that the plate is snugged down adequately.
Make sure that you have the correct V-Block to push the case into the plate.

Maybe a picture of the malfunction?

Sorry my brain was way ahead of my typing.
Its with the case feeder not the shell plate.
The pivot body has a plunger that pushes up and rotates the pivot into place so the case drops through a bushing onto the
case slide. The guide bushing for the plunger poped out of the pivot body ,I think I have that corrected.
38spcl cases are trying to feed two at a time and one gets crossways and binds the other I have it set as close as I can, think I need a smaller guide
so the second case will stay on top of the pivot. I get a picture and post it. I tried it with and without the adaptor. I tried a larger drop tube I think I need some other adaptor to get the case to not jam.

All I ever used since I had my first Hornady progressive (back in the mid- to late-70s) was the #1 for .45 ACP.
Then, a few years ago, they finally looked into complaints about the ejectors not working for .45 ACP and changed the geometry slightly and came out with a new shell plate.
Problem I had was that none of the various Hornady progressives ever had a case ejector that worked for me and I never tried the EZject.
So, for about 40 years, I have simply flicked the case off the shell plate with my finger as I went to place a case in the shell plate and put a bullet on the charged case. It just became ingrained habit.

made a bushing for the case feeder pivot and that works now.
You know they should send a whole bag of those retainer springs. Your bound to kink or break the first one

Also bring down the drop tube to be sitting about the width of a nickel over the pivot
If you have too much spacing you WILL get doubles and a raft of feeding problems.
In addition, there are "spacers" that you can get to match up with the specific size of cade you are dropping-I don't remember where I got them but I have a set of inserts that cover 38/357, 308, 45 and one or two more that I cannot bring up in my memory right now.
They appear to be made of a high density plastic that is cast to be a perfect fit for the pivot and the case.
Anyway, try adjusting the drop tube

Thanks, I readjusted and made a spacer from A plastic bushing and it feeds good no more jams or doubles. I'll do some fine tuning tomorrow.
