Not me. But, I've successfully used other substitutes; Kiwi neutral shoe wax, Mink Oil and Snow-Proof boot treatment wax, Johnson's paste floor wax, Chapstick, car door lock lubracant sticks, toilet bowl wax sealing rings, electrical wire pulling lubracants, hand soaps with a high lanoline content, nursing mother's nipple balms, KY Jelly, Star-Bright brand teflon trailer hitch grease, Blu-Goo skin cream, and a few others I can't remember at the moment. I prefer the Kiwi Mink Oil or Snow-Proof leather boot treatment waxes from Walmart, they are virtually identical to Imperial Die Wax.

Since a tin og Imperial only lasts ten years or so this is a real chance to save. Good luck!

You need to be aware that it should NOT be allowed to dry before insertion. ![]() (It worked so good in my first effort I just had to try it in others. Works very well when installing new O rings on hydralic lines too.)

I use lemon curd sandwich spread. Lubes well and has a nice citrus fresh smell. ![]() My brother had the best scheme for saving money on case lube though. He just used to steal mine from my reloading room! Stopped him eventually by re-labelling a tube of cyan-acrylic glue as "acme super slip case lube"...his wife was not pleased! How was I to know that she had had the bad luck run out of KY Jelly that same day! ![]()

And are we to assume your brother died with a smile on his face? ![]()

In all seriousness the best lube I ever used was for swaging. And that was a 50/50 mixture of anhydrous lanolin (wool fat) with castor oil. The same recipe that the Corbins used to advise I believe? Absolutely superb as it would not "creep" under pressure like case sizing lubricant. But for that reason I think it would not be suitable for case re-sizing.

I use a water-based lube like RCBS. It’s easy to clean off the cases. Imperial “grease “ is just that, greasy. Hard to clean off your cases.

Hmmm, Says "Wax" on the tin and feels "waxy" to me to boot, not "greasy". I never had any problem removing it from my brass with a simple swipe of a dry paper towel or 5 minutes in the tumbler, depending on how many I have to do. Maybe you are using too much? If you can see it on the case you`ve enough for half dozen pieces of brass. ------------------------------------ The trouble with the Internet is that it's replacing masturbation as a leisure activity. ~Patrick Murray "Why shouldn`t truth be stranger then fiction? Imperial Die Wax case lube is certainly not a grease. It's quite easy to wipe off any tiny residual amount of the dry wax that needs to be wiped off. ??

I bought 2 of the little bottles of RCBS case lube a long while ago. I'm sure I'll open the second bottle sometime before I die.... Maybe. Aim for the exit hole
