fredj338I used to build my benches, but after a few moves decided to go w/ a steel workbench like Craftsman or, if you have more room, buy a set of cheap kitcheb cabinets & put a laminated top on it. You get a neat work are w/ storage & the cost isn't bad. For ultra cheap, call around to some kitchen contractors & see if they have any old cabinets they have remoed form a house.

SpringThere are plans for an excellent reloading bench in the book,
Any Shot You Want. The bench is designed to be very sturdy with six upright 4x4's in the main structure. I made their bench last summer in an afternoon and could not be more pleased with it. It is heavy and strong, which is important when an electronic powder measurer and a press are involved, has the shelves you'll need, and has the room on top for your equipment along with a ridge around the top to keep anything from rolling off. If you'd like to see plans for this bench, let me know and I'll be glad to scan and e-mail them to you.

I made a quick and easy shooting platform from an old Black and Decker fold up work table. I mounted a 12" high 2 x 6 with a noch cut in it on one end and used a sand bag on the other end. Not fancy but portable and worked well. Put rubber on the noch cut out for stock to sit in.
