Well its almost the end of deer season in Wisconsin. I decided to put one gun away for the year. Between sighting in and a little shooting during the season I probably have 12 rounds through it. Enough to look in the muzzle end of the gun and see "copper" streaks in the lands. So I set it in the gun cradle this morning. Slid the bore guide in and gave it one shot of wipout. Looked in the bore guide and made sure the foam made it all the way down the barrel. Walked away and packed up the car and headed off to the relatives for our annual get together. Came home tonight. Pushed one patch throught with kroil and out comes the usual blue liquid. Took a glance down the barrel with the light and no more "orange". Two more patches of kroil and a swabbing of the chamber area and it's ready to put away. Total cleaning time (maybe) 3 minutes. GOSH--I LOVE HOW EZ THIS WORKS. ALMOST AS GOOD AS TURKEY AND PUMPKIN PIE!!

Hello kraky, You've sold me! I've heard nothing but good about wipe out, and think it's well worth a try. I'm familiar with Kroil and like it as well. Best wishes. Cal - Montreal

I was just putting an order in for some supplies and noticed that "break free" brand has a new foam out that is supposed to work in 15 minutes PLUS it's supposed to leave a protective film behind. Sounds almost too good to be true but the CRP Break Free products have been excellent throughout the years so I ordered a can. I'll report on how it works compared to wipout. (Could be the same product marketed under another name--who knows)

Finally tried wipeout myself. I was really impressed with how it worked on my .300. Much better than Sweet's.

We had our local shop to start carring 'Wipe Out' after we had tried it before we went to Africa last year. We were shooting a lot and this made the cleaning breaks MUCH faster. Any way, it has caught on locally with the shooters and when a shipment comes in, it may last a day or two. Great product. Sam

Sometimes it's hard to know "when to quit" or just exactly "what you're looking at". I challenge anyone to get their barrel absolutely spotlessly clean by their method. THEN...........Run a few patches with Flitz on them and watch them come out black as heck----now what the heck are you looking at now??? Plus you can get a real funky metallic smell if you keep running flitz in there. Yet, I've used flitz on scratches in car paint, used it to clean up scratched goggles etc, etc,. It doesn't seem that nasty but it sure does clean up brass super fast and whatever it does in a barrel is almost scary!

I have to agree with Delta Hunter on this one powder fouling imbedded into the copper fouling is almost impossible to touch.

Has anyone borescoped a rifle cleaned with this stuff? Just curious as I have heard so many mixed reviews. Anyone, Dan, know were in Canada you can get this stuff? Chuck

I am also with Delta Hunter, in that I will run a brush in first to get at the powder fouling before using the wipeout. Seems to work best this way. Haven't touched the Sweets since I got my cans of WO. Steve

Your not supposed to mix cleaning agents with Wipeout or with Barnes CR-15, mostly those with amonia content... I use Kroil and JB then get it all out with clean dry patches then use Wipe out...or visa versa, but get the stuff out first, don't mix. or so I have been told by those in the know so I don't do it... Probably pretty good advise with any cleaning agent of any kind as it could change the mixture to one degree or another...
