250-3000 stevens Mod. 200 w/ Shaw replacement Barrel. In useing these fast burning powders reduced pressure is always sought. The loading procedure is always checked and double checked to exclude as much as is humanly possible from throwing an over or double charge. Any questionable load is DUMPED and no bullet seated. *** It happened almost exactly identical Twice with the same bullet and different powders. Never clean rifles at the range so it must be heat affect. .222, CZ Mod. 527, RP cases, #200 primers, 21.8gr DP. 73. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Interesting report. Just curious - why were you using those CCI #34 primers? Those things are HARD, plus are usually tough to find in my area. | |||

Bought 15,000 a couple of years ago at a great price. The only problem I've seen is on a Ruger .257, 38 years old with a slightly weak fireing pin spring ( miss fire with first strike). You also must adjust your thinking when looking for pressure indications. The hardness seems to mask high pressure signs somewhat. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!!
