Hodgdon's reloading info, H4831 is showing 91 (2979 fps)-96.5 (3138 fps) grains for the 200 grain bullet. The sc Powder variety has the same burn characteristics as the regular h4831 so start low and work up as you'd always do. Does that help? Zeke

I load for the 338 RUM; 96.5 grains is like loading black powder; it fills the case full into the neck. Doesn't your loading manual show you loads for this?

repte Zeke has provided load info from Hodgdon. I would like to share some info that I obtained from loading for my 338 Rum. While lighter bullets such as 200 gr help keep the recoil manageable I would suggest you choose a bullet carefully. I tried some 200 gr Hornady bullets in a 338 Rem and found they would not hold together at speeds the Rum is capable of. That 200 gr Hornady bullet performs very well in my 338-06 but at a lower velocity. If you want to stay with a lighter bullet I have found the 210 gr Barnes TTSX shoots very well in my 338 Rum with RL22 and RL 25 powders. Hope that helps.

Don't mean to be snippy, but I would recommend you start with a Hodgdon manual.

Hodgdon puts out an annual load data soft cover. That's where I seen the data that Zeke provided.
