Other than price, what's the difference between these elec-

tronic digital calipers?

Plus, they have 55 people that have left feedback on this set and there is not one bad or negative comment.

I have your Number 3 in a four-inch model. I like that it goes down to 0.0005 inches. I also like the anywhere-zero setting capability. I'd buy a six-inch-- the four-inch is kind of hard to handle, being so small. There is even a twelve-inch one. Costs about fifty bucks if you catch it on sale at Harbor Freight. I think there's a ten-inch model, too. Might be eight inches-- I don't remember...

I woulden't trust a caliper for anything more then +- .003, that being said, I used Mititoya or Staret for rough work when I did tool & die.
Ya get what you pay for.

I'm all for supporting the right companies, but there are a number of

negative reviews on that caliper you've posted the link to. And do you

know Harbor Freight to be anti gun rights?

The fractional caliper should have a setting where it will read in fractions. So instead of saying .250 it will read 1/4. The photo of the one you show has both readings displayed. 6 inch is the most useful size for reloading measurements. I prefer a cheap dial caliper for fear the electronic part in a cheap digital will break.
20 -30 dollar calipers will not be as accurate as a Mitutoyo or a Starret but are good enough for most reloading chores.

I would guess, all the cheapies coming from Midway, Graf, or whoever are same quality as Harbor Freight. I have a Harbor Freight 6 inch dial for general use. If I need more accuracy I have a set of Starret micrometers.

I have a 0-1, 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 (micrometers are set up to measure 1 inch increments, so if you wanted to measure 4.75 inches you would need a 4-5 micrometer) set of Starret micrometers that I have had since the 70's when I was a tool & die apprentice. Never did get my journeymens credentials as I turned into one of those guys that sold machine tools.

I think Bob White at The Shooters Corner has some good deals on measuring tools both new and used. He is in NJ.
