I bouht a box of CCI Blazers in .44 spl to try out my new ccw tomorrow while I wait for brass to arrive. I know that the aluminium cases are not reloadable, but I just noticed that they are loaded with Gold Dots. I would almost feel like I was wasting them by shootnig them into dirt. So, I was wondering if it is safe to pull the bullets and replace them with some lead ones I have. ___________ Cowboy Dan's a major player in the cowboy scene. -The Mouse

I guess I would pull one check the case for cracks and see how the new bullet seats and crimps. If all looks ok I wouldn't be afraid to replace them.

It's a myth that aluminum cased cartridges arent reloadable. It's true it would be difficult with the Berden primed ones and case life won't be nearly as good as with brass but they're reloadable.

I did a few, and for anyone who is interested it worked fine. Also, talked to an engineer, and aluminium cases should not be reloaded. Gasses from the firing work into the metal making it brittle and more likely to rupture. You might get away with 1 reloadng, but I don't think it is worth the risk. But I did save a few to use as snap caps. ___________ Cowboy Dan's a major player in the cowboy scene. -The Mouse
