Do you own any Dillions? Been looking at progressive presses but yet to decide.

Yes, as a replacement of a 23 years old Hornady Pro-7 (which has always been problematic in its priming system), I bought a Dillon XL650 a few months ago. I immediately became very fond of the machine and have since bought extra parts (tool heads, complete priming system, etc.) to fasten caliber conversions (x5).

Before, I complained about the time it took me to reload and now that loading 100 rounds takes <10', I wonder what to do next to keep busy bewildered

5 shots are a group.

Yep, i do have a dillon, too ... its the SDB with 357 and 45 colt caliber changes... it does NOTHING better, and it can't do 3.65" long rounds...

Yes, one can compare the 650 to the LnL AP, feature for feature ..as these two have the same features ... the LnL can be had delivered for less than 400 ...

Caliber changes can be as easy as NO tools, and worst is 2 allen wrenches.. change shell plate and primer system, if you are crossing from small to large.

i can also order a case feeder and a bullet feeder and have perdactly the same as the super hopped up dillon, again, for much less

I can do 3.65" long cases .. 458 lott, for example, and my 500 AR which is 3.4, .. and uses 7/8" dies ...

If i like i can buy several powder plugs .. not even the whole powder thrower.. for 16 bucks each, and set up for several powder throws .. and have!

i love my lnl also went from doing 20 rounds an hour with the rock chucker to better than 100 and that is taking my time and checking everything a few times per run . i dont have a dillion and havent tried one would like too but on my budget the lnl is great plus i got 1000 .451 hollow points free thats almost the cost of the press so i can either look at as if i got a free press or free bullets

I have two Dillons and a LNL....love them all but the LNL seems to be a bit smoother.....

i roughly timed myself, with weighing every 10th one .. about 4 per minute, average .. and that is WITH weighing every 10th .. AND loading the primer tubes .. to say i am pleased to go from 50-60 45LC per hour to something like 250 is an understatement!

There's a LNL Classic under that dust cover, and a Redding T-7 waiting to get bolted up to the new workbench.

I too bought one after jeffe's recommendation and of a few others. I have only loaded 100 44 Specials but to say I am pleased is an understatement. It is a fine piece. I just ordered one of these powder through expanders to try when I get home.

just loaded 100 45LC, changed to 458LOTT, loaded 50, using my lyman as an "off press" powder thrower ... i need to make a longer base for the hornady thrower ... including setup of the first time for this set of dies in LESS than an hour ... loaded the primers, adjusted the dies, die change, adjustment, thrower adjustment, stop and talk to my wife, etc etc

All in all, guys, i love my press .. and that i could load about 2.5 per min, with primer pickup, die change and all, i am pretty darn happy ... if i went over and did it again, right now, probably 30 mins MAX

but i don't have any more lott brass on hand to prove it!
