I am thinking of trying Benchmark in a 222 as it looks like it might be a good powder. Have any of you tried it & did you like it & what caliber did you use it in?

G'day, I load 23.8gns of BM 2 (Benchmark) behind a 50gn Taipan HP in Winchester cases fired off by a CCI primer for 3150 fps (avg) and half inch groups at 100 yards. I also load this powder in my 22-250 and my 7mm-08. I've found that it burns clean and is not temp sensitive. Nearly forgot to mention the rifle is a BRNO model 2 Fox and has a twenty inch barrel. Warning: Manufacturers recommended max load is 24.0 gns approach with caution. Cheers, Richo. It produced great accuracy and velocity in a 223, with a 40 grain bullet. However, I found RL 7 to be even more accurate and velocity as good if not better, so that took the place of the Benchmark. But Benchmark will still do a great job and is definitely minute of gopher at 200 yds. What more can you ask than that. Cheers and good shooting seafire
