| Another vote for VARGET for the 308 Winchester. It is extremely accurate with my Ruger Target rifle. Have fun! |

| I use 44.5 grains of Varget behind a 165 grn Nos BT and get an avg. 2705 fps with superb accuracy.
Fed Match Brass Fed 210M Primers
ES 24.7 SD 10.5
This load is 1.5 grains below max, but my rifle prefers it that way. Avg group size is about .75" but has shot a few groups in the .4" range.
Varget is a very good powder. Most Palma Match shooters use it. They know a thing or two about the .308!

| 46 grains Varget (ADI 2208 here), CCI BR2, 168gn Hornady HPBT (moly coated)WW or Norma cases consistently sub .5 MOA, velocity 2728 fps instrumental in a medium heavy barreled Sako rifle. Good mild loads in my rifle, cases last lots of firings. Much higher pressure with PMC cases and different POI with different case brands. Haven't tried Lapua. |

| Hodgdon shows max 46gr with the 168MK. Haven't tried it (the 168 load), but I really did like 45gr with a 175MK. It is extremely accurate and the pressure was fine. [ 02-15-2003, 18:22: Message edited by: BECoole ] |
