Now that Hornady is shipping some of these-anyone been out shooting them yet? I have some 178's for my 300 Ultra and some 143's for my 6.5 X 284, but haven't been out yet.

I've got 3 boxes of the 143gr ELD-X bullets arriving this week. These will be for use in my 6.5mm SAUM which is about a week away from being finished (finally).

I'm taking some 200 gr ELD-X in my 300 Winchester Mag to Namibia in a few weeks.

So far on Paper they are just fine, but want to see how they perform on game.

Terry, I will be VERY interested in your results in Africa. I recently acquired a Ruger #1 in .300 H&H, and I'm planning to use ELD-X bullets for long-range shooting. I have seen good groups with Sierra 200 gr Gamekings, so I'm hoping the Hornady's will do as well with a better BC for long-range. Now to find out about performance.

I'm getting about 2950 fps with the Sierras out of the .300 H&H. What are your Hornadys doing in the .300 Win?

I use 285 ELDs in my two .338 Lapuas and my Edge. Love them. Yesterday I shot my Savage Lapua at 800 and 1190 yards. Awesome, to say the least.

My Savage loves ELDs on top of 88 grains of Retumbo. Velocity is 2770 fps. I anneal every time (Nosler brass) and trim to spec. OAL is 3.780."

Stiller custom: 96 gr RL33 (the OAL is immaterial since it is a custom rifle). Velocity is 2785.

Both use FED 215 primers.
