I doubt seriously that the RCBS or any reloading scale can measure accurately to 1 hundredth of a grain.

How long would it take me to get every charge within .1 grain, about 2 seconds.

If it give anyone greater confidence to weigh each charge then that is just fine and justifiable but don't try to say that it makes ANY noticeable difference in performance of the load.
Like I said, good enough for the BR guys is surely good enough for me.

My dispensers have a balance beam.
So other than the auto dispense function they give the same results as baby sitting any other Ohaus scale. If it is too slow I use two. That is a rare event though.

Now if I had 26 RCBS Lil Dandys I would never have to set up for pistol loads.

Same goes for cast bullets. A lube sizer for each bullet diameter.

Of course then you need a press for each reloading die.....

3:00 AM alarm clocks are hard on a man's night life.

Sorry about that, too many zeros. I meant to say (.1). The point I was trying to get too is that the dispenser does that each and every time it throws a charge, which makes it slow. If a person were to measurer each and every charge down to the last .1 grains with a drop measurer and a balance beam scale, his time probably wouldn’t be much faster than the Chargemaster. The machine can be a little anal, and as Nsaqam points out, that’s not necessary for most reloading endeavors.

I suspect the new Hornady unit will be as good as if not better than the RCBS. It looks similar

The Design folks "should" have created the $$$HIGH$$$ Electrical Powder Thingys so that either a 1# Hodgdon Bottle or an 8# Hodgdon Jug screws right in to the top. No way to get mixed up about "What?" Powder was being used for those who are way too lazy to return it to it's proper container after a Load Session.

Then turn it upside-down,let the remaining powder fall back inside the Bottle/Jug and unscrew the $$$HIGH$$$ Thingy.

So then what about the "other" Powders like RL? The answer would be... rotflmo

The problem, HC, is according to the factory (I'm talking about the 1200), they say DO NOT turn the unit upside down. So's it would be hard to get the powder jar screwed in or out w/o dumping powder.

No, I ASSUME there is electronic stuff (circuitry) inside that a grain of powder could screw up. Maybe somebody with more knowledge can pipe in.

FWIW, another very satisfied RCBS Combo 1500 customer checking in. Think I'll buy another just as a spare in case the one I have ever breaks Wink

Must be mine is set up to run just right, because when I am just finishing seating the bullet and into another press to crimp with a LFCD, there goes that beeeeep.

BINGO, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

The BWADT method just resulted in charging 72 .300 Winchester Magnum cases with 72.3 grains of W780 and seating them all with 208 grain Hornady A-Maxes in 35 minutes.

That's with two double charge screw ups I had to fix and a stop to refill the BWADT hopper. Smiler

Hey vapo, I'll be OK as long as the old lady don't find out

rc, it is still a fact that most if not all of us that have a digital dispenser started reloading with a BWADT thrower and most if not all of us trickled up to weight on a balance beam. Now the majority prefer a digital dispenser. IOW we have experience with both and have made a choice, you and vapo have experience with one side and say your choice is best.

Beside in all the pics above you are using a digital scale so the only difference is that you are using BWADT throwers. So what is so obnoxious to you about using a modern electric dispenser instead of using a BWADT throwers and spilling powder all over the place. And you can use the electric dispenser dispensing time to seat a bullet.

You could have charged and seated those 72 bullets in about the same time and had more fun. One of these days you'll replace those 3 pieces of equipment shown above with the one and I will accept your mea culpa with graciousness. Wink

woods,

I posted that as reference. Is your method really just as fast?

I seriously doubt it.

Next loading I want a true report. BTW, I developed the load with a 13 shot Audette ladder, 5 shots in an obvious node at 2950. Shot 15 today for confirmation, loaded the last 72 for Sunday's match!
