Worked up a new hunting load for my .358 Win BLR using the 225gr TSX. Referenced Barnes #3 data using H4198 to keep powder charge minimal to avoid compressed loadings. Bullets need to be seated rather deep because of the short magazine length. Barnes data is from a 24" barrel so about 100 fps less muzzle speed from the 20" barrel BLR. Always good results with TSX bullets in various calibers. I've used the discontinued 250gr X bullet in my .35 Whelen at 2400 fps muzzle speed with good results on Elk. This new load for my .358 BLR should work not too bad out to 150 yards. The BLR trigger takes some getting used to and practice for better groupings. .358 Win BLR Takedown with Leupold 2.5x Scout scope

one of my favorite rounds, and the one i used for my "first" rifle build, from an action, some time before the last ice age and the takedown.. WOW, that's cool i have had the best luck with win748 powder in this case .. but i would use h335 or tac if i was doing it today ... i use h335 in "Everything" from 223 and 7.62x25 THROUGH 550 magnum i have had the best accuracy with sierra gameking 225gr man, that's neat rig, and excellent bullet choice .... BLR triggers? what an understatement -- i've have finer controls with a tractor opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? Very nice rig. I like the 358 win. I rebarrelled an old Brno into 358. It has the pop up receiver peep sight. I am going to give the CEB Maximus bullet. 160 or 180 a whirl in it when I get a chance. The 225 gr TSX will be a good one. Your off hand shooting is A-1. IHMSA BC Provincial Champion and Perfect 40 Score, Unlimited Category, AAA Class.

Same here as Jeffeosso with accuracy. Sierra 225s will hold right at 1moa in a rebuilt Kimber Montana. Not bad for 225grs at 2500fps, 2.5x scope and 6lbs for everything ready to roll. Nosler 225 Partition hang pretty close to the Sierras, 225TSXs are running 1.5-2.0moa but Nosler 225Accubonds are 2-3moa. The ABs are so pointy, the ogive is nowhere near the lands. In my rifle, there's a direct correlation between "pointyness" and accuracy, the fatter the better. A .358 is a sweet little powerhouse!

.358 Win has a standard 1:12 twist so stabilizes heavyweight bullets like the 310gr Woodleigh that I've used with good results on Moose at 2100 fps muzzle speed. Also can handload 38 caliber 158gr pistol bullets for plinking.

Pretty much ready to go do anything it looks like to be. Thanks for sharing. "The liberty enjoyed by the people of these states of worshiping Almighty God agreeably to their conscience, is not only among the choicest of their blessings, but also of their rights." ~George Washington - 1789

Judging from your pictures I surprised the 310 gr. bullets fit in the clip and chamber?? Nice gun and decent ballistics. Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com
