Been poking holes in perfectly good deer since before the 25-06 was commercially availible. It has been my Texas go-to rifle for a long time. Currently using a stiff dose of IMR-7828 and the Nosler 110 Accubonds.

Pick a bullet weight form 100 thru 120grs, then choose a powder from IMR-4350 to RL-22 on the burn chart, find the load data and work up slowly to your best accuracy. No need for magnum primers, the standards do just fine.

The one I "GRACIOUSLY" gave to my daughter, shoots everything from 100, to 120gr bullets into tiny groups, out further than I can hold them together.

This was a fouling round (low) and two for group to check the scope zero at 250yds with the 110gr Nosler Accubond loaded over RL-22,

What load for deer in 25-06? Deer seem recoil sensitive and prefer light loads.

The deer I tested this load on died quickly with a Texas heart shot.

Whatever your rifle likes between 100-120 grs. My No. 1 likes the Hornady 120hp. I have had almost lengthwise penetration our big deer with no problems.

don't use a varmit bullet for game you intend to eat.

want speed? 80 gr ttsx..

if you HAVE to have a tipped nosler, use the accubonds.. even nosler agrees those are better HUNTING bullets...

NBT are not hunting bullets, to me.. but opinions vary...

opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club

As others have inferred, just about any bullet with a lead core weighing between 100 and 120 grains and launched between 3300 and 2900 fps will kill a deer in a manner that is virtually indistinguishable from some other bullet in this group.

The only .25-06 load that I've shot deer with has been a 115 Nosler B. Tip on top of a proper charge of IMR-7828 SSC which propels it at 3115 fps in my longer-barreled rifle. There are only about 200 combinations that will do as well, but it is unlikey any will do particularly better.

100 grain TTSX RL22 Powder. I shoot the same thing in a 25-06AI (more powder though).

It will shoot through a deer end to end or quartering, with devastating internal damage as well.
