Reloader, Any die will do this if there is a "goo" (dirt, grease, bullet lube) build-up inside. Problem two may be unintended rotation of the die and/or depth adjustment screw, although I doubt the O-rings would allow it. Problem three may be work-hardened case necks which don't allow consistent bullet "pull" or seating depths. You can easily check the first and the third by examination and by using a new case. Also, it just occurred to me to ask whether you are chamfering the case mouths? Let me know if this helps, ...Maven

Define the problem, How different are your OAL measurements?

How are you measuring the difference. If you are measureing to the tip of bullet that will not give you an accurate measurement. You need to measure to the ogive. The tips of bullets get dinged up in packageing. Just a thought

Take the cap off the seating die and see if there is a small burr on the top of the seater plug. Since that thing can float around a little, the burr might come to rest against a different spot on the cap. Take a light jewelers file and knock it off. Might help, might not.

I've had the same problem with various seaters. The Lee "dead Stop" dies are the only ones I've found to work OK. That's because the press ram is stopped by the die body. If you try to adjust a regular seating die, you'll have trouble with the crimp messing you up. Also, I've found that the Lee turret presses have a lot of play in them. Especially the turret plate itself. The cure for me was using a small C clamp to lock the plate down onto the press. Loner
