Don't you think it is a strange marketing strategy to bring out two cartridges that are basically twins at the same time? Wouldn't it have been smarter to bring out one or the other plus a .338WSM?

Ken Howell: Aren't these two cartridges ballistically similar (but a little lower velocity than) your series based on a lengthened .30-06 case? If so, it seems to me a poor trade to have an action 7/8 inch shorter to give up 2 rounds of magazine capacity. Also, any existing short (medium) action will have to have extensive bolt face and magazine alteration to chamber for the WSM series, while the long Sako, Mauser, Remington, Browing, and others need nothing (except perhaps removing a magazine block).

I'm a happy 270win owner and was wondering if Winchester was going to neck there new hull down to .277........ It's been a long time coming for this caliber in a new factory load. It is also about time too, as the old 270win performs better than average and has been good for Winchester over the years. BRAVO John
