FWIW - the 416 Taylor and the 375 Chatfield-Taylor are both based on the 2.50" long belted mag case, not a full-length H&H case.

Never heard of a 338 Taylor.

"The shell is a necked up .300 H&H magnum shell, shortened 1/4", and blown out, with a sharp shoulder, a la the Ackley Improved cartridges. It has more case capacity than the Winchester .338 Magnum . . . "

It's basically a 375 Epstien necked down to .338" diameter.

0.10" longer than a .338 Winny. Whoopdy doo . . .

Thanks for the info.. Sounds like it wouldn't be to much sweat at the reloading bench.. Would you say about a 10% gain over the .338 Win..
