| Yes. A Square is simply the one that took it from wildcat to std.

| The 338-06 and the 338-06 A-Square version are the same. The reason for the A-Square is because that company legitimized the cartridge as Remington and Winchester have done in the past with many other "wildcat" cartridges. |

| I would go for a 9.3X62 - it gives me the flexibility of using 230 to 320 grain projectiles and the case is actually an "improved" design.

| Thanks guys!! A lot of the data on this round was not straight forward in the manuals that I was refrencing. Nosler, Hornady, and Sierra all give differant dimensions as to where the shoulder starts which was confusing the hell out me. Any loads you would recomend? I was looking for a deer load and also a more heavy duty one for Moose. |

| Nothing at all wrong with the 338-06. For deer I use 200Accubonds. With Rl15 or a compressed load of RL19 behind it.
