I'm just getting a new Hornady AP Press. I want to mainly load .40 S&W and .223 Rem other than shell plates, what other accessories will I need to buy that don't come with the press ?
I do have Dies that I have been using on my single stage press, and case prep tools.

It is just too time consuming weighing every load one by one on these high volume calibers.

you will need the shellplates, for each, and i suggest a powder cop ..

the FIRST grain of powder spilled you need to stop

go ahead and buy 2 primer cams -- they are just 8 bucks or so

The case activated powder measure has all the stuff you'll need to load .223 with it, IIRC.

I would also purchase a few extra case retaining springs, people say they tend to break when you least expect it (I haven't had one break quite yet but they do get rather distorted from the contortions they go through near station one- I have about ten spares just in case). Said springs are really more of a consumable item though Hornady doesn't say so. The springs are pretty cheap.

I received my press a couple days ago. Loaded up a couple hundred 40s&w. I seem to have some trouble with the primers feeding properly, the primer cradle gets stuck quite a bit. I also think I may have to adjust my powder choices for .223rem, H335 feeds thru powder measure much better than Varget. seems like I get about .3g variation in charges. In .223 and .40s&w this might be acceptable but in my longrange guns I'm a bit more particular.

you need to adjust the primer tube guide on top of your press i had the same problem it doesnt take much adjustment. on your powder measure did you clean it good ? the coating they put on it is very tacky stuff and will give you accuracy problems
