DUK, what is the twist rate of your barrel?? Many .222 Rems come with a 1-14" twist (or some equivalent European rate), and a 1-14" is marginal for 60grs. http://benchrest.com/sst/shilentwist.html - mike

it is an Ansch�tz rifle and as you state, most likely it is the 1/14" twist which I was told ist the optimum for the 50 grains bullets we use to shoot here mainly for target practice.
I have worked up a load with a Sierra 55 grain Gameking bullet for that rifle but actually stopped taking it to any other places but the shooting range. In the woods, there is always a chance to come up a wild boar and the 30/06 or the 6,5x57 R with a bullet like the Nosler Partition don�t waste more meat than the .222 on those roe deer, either.
