N133 in 223??
Anyone tried VVN133 in a bolt action 223? If so, what bullets and how did it go?

133 is my favorite powder in the .223 with 52 grain match bullets.

I like it for my .222 Rem., it gives good speed and excellent accuracy for both 50 as well as 55 grain bullets.

The 60 grainers I cant get to fly straight, though, neither with N133 nor with RL12.

DUK, what is the twist rate of your barrel?? Many .222 Rems come with a 1-14" twist (or some equivalent European rate), and a 1-14" is marginal for 60grs. http://benchrest.com/sst/shilentwist.html

Hello Mike,

it is an Anschtz rifle and as you state, most likely it is the 1/14" twist which I was told ist the optimum for the 50 grains bullets we use to shoot here mainly for target practice.

I have worked up a load with a Sierra 55 grain Gameking bullet for that rifle but actually stopped taking it to any other places but the shooting range. In the woods, there is always a chance to come up a wild boar and the 30/06 or the 6,5x57 R with a bullet like the Nosler Partition dont waste more meat than the .222 on those roe deer, either.
