I load WC846 in 223, which is supposed to be pretty similar. It works well with 70gr VLD and 50gr V-max.

blc-2 should work really well in 223. What problem are you seeing?

I use BLC-2, Varget, and CFE-223 for 52 grain and 55 grain bullets for my .223 Remington's. 27 grains for each with the later powder my favorite because the barrel fouls much less. Good Shooting.

I use BL-C2 in my AR,s with 55 to 75gr bullets. No issues. LC99 brass with the heavy bullet as well. Got to 26.0 in my gun YMMV

This is atypical, so I believe you've got something going on. A fast lot of powder, a tight bore, tight neck, brass needs to be trimmed shorter, heavy fouling, oversize bullets, etc. There are a few different things that can cause high pressures...

Hodgdon shows a starting load of 24.5 for 69gr Sierra HPBT. How about a pic of one of your blown primers?

i don't use this particular load, but i use h335 from 30 mauser through 550 express -- not the perfect powder for all of them, but i don't have to have 10 different powders through the clinton, and then obama, droughts --

335 should be great for this application,blc2 would be too slow

I use both in my 222 and 223. The heavy bullets I have used are the 60 gr. Hornady and the same in GS Customs HVHPs...I get the highest velocity with H-335 than any other powder that I have tried, its my deer and antelope bullet and powder in my 222, 223, and most of all my 6x45..I don't think you will have any trouble at all working up fine loads with H335 in your rifle..Use the chronograph if possible, that will tell you the real story.
