That is something that happens frequently with the older cartridges and the reloading book data due to safety and lawyers. Many guys discover that they can push beyond max in new firearms. Use a chrony, watch for velocity to start leveling off as you increase powder charge. Start by checking the velocity of the previous loads you have been using. When you increase grains of powder, and see a smaller increase in velocity, than you have been getting with prior increases, you are max-ing your firearm. Watch all pressure signs as you increase, being as safe as possible. | ||

You may want to consider Gerards GS custom bullets in the Swede. He is apparently getting great velocity out of his loads. Good luck and be careful. "D" | |||

I also have a new Tikka in 6.5x55 and had very good results with H450. It's not a big case and it's difficult to get what would be a respectable (by today's standards) velocity. If it groups well, be happy. | ||
