The actual powder used is closely guarded by Hornady. It can be duplicated if you use very slow burning powders and compress a lot. Frankly.....IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!! There's no assurance of accuracy with that (or other compacted) load and you're just best advised to work up loads that work well. I like IMR (or Hodgdon's) 4831 for the .270. Don't be afraid of compressing it and use caution in determining the pressure signs. Gaining 100'/sec is a total waste of time when you're already shooting 140 grainers at 3,000'/sec. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." It's really very simple. Just go buy a 270wsm and blow right by the Light mag stuff. | |||
