I think I may have found a "fair deal" considering the shortage of large rifle primers. I am getting set up to reload rifle for 7mm-08 I have 8# Varget and now have a chance to get the Winchester large rifle primers and the CCI my question for the experts is which is more reliable? Especially in cold weather as this is about hunting for me. I am assuming the Federal, Winchester and CCI are all about the same with Varget or not?

IME toss a coin. I use a lot of both, never an issue with either. Somewhere out there there is a 'brissance' chart--tells which primer is hotter, so you might could search it up, and go with whichever is supposedly hotter.

I use Winchester and CCI and have never had either fail to go bang in any weather. ________________________________________________ Maker of The Frankenstud Sling Keeper Proudly made in the USA Acepting all forms of payment

While one brand might prove more accuate, I do not see any reliability issues with either one. I have used a lot of CCI Primers over the years, never a problem. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY
