I spent a year up in Alaska with the AF and dated a gal that worked for E-Systems out of Greenville, Texas. She was an intel analyst for them. Some pretty neat stuff that goes on up there, or at least did, not sure if they still have the RC-135 up there anymore or not. Lots has changed since the mid-80's.

This is the most interesting thread I've read in a while. The variety of occupations and professions is mind boggling. Some would think that 95% on here would be "Bubbas" (like me) . I worked 18 years as a mechanic/welder in the KY coal mines. Got black lung and thought I would try to find something a little safer, so I got a job in a steel mill . Been there 14 years now and my current title is Reliability Team Leader. (Fancy word for Mechanic). Have one foot on a banana peel and the other in the unemployment line as I type this. Been handloading since 1973.
