Anyone here try this new powder yet? Wondering how it would be for the 22-250. Looks like a good replacement for N133 in the 6mm class of cartridges, for the likes of the BR guys. Seafire, how about you?

This is new to me....can you tell us where it stands in the burn rate charts? /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." from what I gather from my testing it is between XMR2015 and IMR 3031.: closer to the 2015.Do not have adequate pressure test equipment but comparative case and primer appearance and load vs. velocity leads me to this conclusion. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! I just visited Hodgdon's website and they have it listed near H-4895.....several places after IMR-3031 /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." I talked to a guy at the range last week who had a couple of pounds he got from a benchrest shooter. He had it loaded in .308 for his M1A and put 5 shots in one ragged hole while I watched. I have no idea when us peo'ns will be able to get it.

I have 48lbs coming next week. It is slightly slower than VV133. It is more dense allowing you to put a little more in the case. I'm hoping it will be less temp. sensitive than VV133. Butch

Back when I first started playing with 8208 I too ranked it like 3031.But using 3031 data started showing a little pressure.Using 2015 data seems a little more forgiving. Now that's just my take. The newer stuff maybe a horse of a different color. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! Yeah, there were quite a few different lots of the original 8208 that varied greatly in burn rate. Some was almost as fast as 4198, and other lots were closer to 4895. Thats a WIDE range. Anyhow, the new stuff is certainly a different horse in a number of ways...

My memory is a bit vague today, so this is mainly a question, not a statement of presumed fact. When I first started using ADI powders a couple or three decades ago, I believe 8208 was claimed to be the same exact same powder as Hodgdon 322, and 2208 was (maybe) Varget? In fact, I think it was Hodgdon that said they were both supplied by ADI.... Anybody else remember that? My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.
