Kjell, The bullet passing through deer isn't surprising with that cartridge. If you don't want through and through penetration try a lightly constructed 300gr Like the Sierra. I personally like complete penetration, so am not sure what you're looking for or if you feel the factory 350gr Hornady has somehow failed? What was the result of these 12 deer upon being shot? Did they drop at the shot or run only a short to moderate distance? If so then the bullet did a great job and you won't do much better than that. .22 LR Ruger M77/22 30-06 Ruger M77/MkII .375 H&H Ruger RSM

I haven't reloaded the 450, but did load alot of high power 45-70s. Reloader-7 and Sierra 300gr was easily driven past 2600 FPS in a Browning High Wall. This powder gives the best power to pressure ratio in this cartrige. I drove Speer 350's to 2500 FPS. These loads were moderately compressed. These loads are unsafe in a Marlin, but the point is that Reloader-7 is THE powder for your application. The Sierra load shot .75" groups at 100 yards, BTW.

Well,I suppose you're right 548 ruger!I cant expect much more of a bullet. All the deer fell within a range of 100 yds.The biggest,a 280 lbs. buck got the 100 yds...Some say it's "overkill" to use this caliber on norwegian deer, but it's working a lot better than my 6.5x55!So thanks to you all,I appreciate good advices from experienced hunters!!!
