Folks,

Does anyone have any experience reloading the Sierra 200 grain .375 bullets for the H&H? Have been told it's a versatile bullet in the 375. Just curious what experience (and there is alot of it on this website) any of you may have had. Thank you.

Tim

I use 210gn Barnes X a lot at the moment on game up to moose and probably wood bison later this year.

73gn of H4895 or 73gn VV N140 gave me an average MV of 2999fps and perfeformance has been perfect so far on about a half dozen animals I have taken with this load so far.

I loaded 235 gr Speers to 2750fps to duplicate my 150gr -06 deer load so I could use my Mod 70 for deer before I went to Africa last Sept. Shot 1 at 240yds, the other at 60 yds. It's enough gun for blacktails

The Sierra 200 grain is intended for the .375 Winchester and is intended for velocities of 2500'/sec and under.

The lightest bullet intended for the .375 H&H is the Hornady 225 grain bullet which was actually bought out for the .376 Steyr.

The 210 Barnes X is pointed, so I am assuming it was NOT made for the .375 Winchester. Therefore, I also assume it was intended for the .375 H&H, et. al. It is lighter than the Hornady 225!

I have used the 200 Sierra and 210 gr fn and hp bullets loaded to about 25-2600 fps. Deer succumb quickly to these. Indeed these bullets are made for the winchester 375. They will not hold up well to hot loads on larger game. If loaded only to moderate velocities and used on light, thin skinned, game it will work well. The barnes 210 will hold up to higher velocities. The 235 Barnes blue x I load to about 2850. It works fine for deer and I plan to use it on cow elk in November. I think I used Varget for 235s and can't remember the powder for the 210 deer loads. Good hunting. "D"
