I am going to load Sierra 100 grain Spitzers in the .243 and would like load data for H414 if anyone has the Sierra book. I would also like the Cartridge Overall Length is published. Thanks ---------Chainsaw

sierras 4th edition on disk doesnt show it for any weight bullet but hogdon has 40grs for a max load. jason

The powder companies are the best source of max load data, and Hodgdon does say that 40 grains of H414 with a 100 grain bullet is max in the .243 Winchester. Work up from about 37.5 grains and watch for pressure signs of course...

As for Sierra's load data... I really like Sierra's bullets, and their techs are a great bunch of knowledgeable folks.

But most of their max charges seem to have been written by their grandmothers...
