Another thread reminded me of a question I've been meaning to ask. I understand that a properly sized neck will be about .002 smaller than bullet diameter... but how do you measure the i.d. of a case neck?

An inside micrometer or caliper would do it. Frank "I don't know what there is about buffalo that frightens me so.....He looks like he hates you personally. He looks like you owe him money." - Robert Ruark, Horn of the Hunter, 1953 NRA Life, SAF Life, CRPA Life, DRSS lite

Measure the OD of a sized case. Measure the OD of the case with bullet seated. The difference is your bullet grip. You'll then know the ID of both the sized case and with bullet seated.

I think that .001" is ideal.
