| without mentioning any names, I'm betting there will be a couple more big retailers following suit in the near future....

| They screwed me once too often. I won't miss them. Sorry to see those people loose their jobs though. roger

| The news report stated that they intend to operate 29 stores under chapter 11. So, hopefully there'll be no more store sales or closings. They have always carried a better reloading section than the local Crudella's. I hope SW pulls through, I would miss them. |

| As the previous poster stated it's hard to emerge from 11 especially as a retailer. I predict an outright sale or, more likely, Ch 7 |

| Stu grew that company way to fast. Keep in mind me initially was brought on to sell the whole thing, saw a market, grew it and now here we are. I think in the goo dmarkets they will still be around like Meridan Idaho and a few others. In fact it may be a good thing for the remaining stores because they wont have to spread stock so thin |

| I heard a snipet of a report on Reno radio yesterday. I think the store here is staying open. We have a monster Scheel's that opened in September and a Cabela's out at Exit 4 in Verdi. That store is at least ten miles out of town; it makes me wonder why they built it so far out. The Scheel's is nicely-located at Exit 20. The Sportsman's Whorehouse is way down Kietzke Lane; kind of hard to reach (all them stoplights), but not far from the Convention Center where we have gunshows. The Hilton (now the Grand Sierra Resort) is close to I-80, which makes it easy for all the Kalifonians to come over Donner and buy magazines, et cetera without all the bullsqueezius associated with buying the same stuff there... |
