Woke up too early, jangled my nerves with some hi-test coffee, then...

two pops witht the Benjamin, two dead squill. It was a warm up. Smiler Across the street wandered a small pig of 30# or so. Out come the Remmy pump .22, tube full of CB Shorts. Out goes Dan, making a quiet measured stalk in the early dawn. At 40 yards, pop, grunt, pump, pop, flop. Oh what a relief it is! Roll Eyes I hate pigs damn near as much as crats. Mad
There are two new litters making forays with momma(s) into the neighborhood, the landscaping is taking a beating. Frowner Guess I'll give the crats a rest for the moment, wish it was warmer so I could help Big Al develope a taste for pork. gunsmile

Hey Dan, 30 pounds sounds like a good sized "roaster" for the spit. Eat'um yourself with some good old fashioned hickory BBQ sauce!

Mmm, I think I will make a slab of store bought back ribs tonight for myself! You are lucky you have wild pigs to chase.

Oinker backstrap with a Squill chaser! Nothing wrong with that. I wouldn't dare try to eat one of these mink although my buddy darn near pissed himself when I suggested using his wife's new blender to try to make "mink oil". bewildered Eeker Big Grin

Chickens will eat anything edible. My horse is bizzare, he will kill wabbits if he can catch them. He stomps nests of babies all the time. Carries frozen squill around crunching them in his teeth for fun. Yep, he's weird!

Something ran off with today's kill, musta been Mimi, my half Siamese barn cat. Once I get some good photos I will be sure to post them!

Took the Massey out today to help me cut trees down. I love that tractor!

Damn, I just missed a chance for a grand slam! Roll Eyes 'coon knocked over the trashcan, and I hesitated a bit too long because the Impala was in the background! Won't Chevy's stop bullets as well as Fords? bewildered As I pondered, it ran...

Yep, wild pigs, 20-30 pounders, gut, skin, wrap in foil, add pineapple and honey, seal, slow (over coals, no flame) bbq until you can pull meat off with fingers, open, smoke 15 minutes or so, and you are feasting!

Well, I gotta amend my previous post. 10:10 PM and Rocky dumped the can again...

Daniel was hot, he drew first and shot, Rocky lay dead on the gravel.

Didn't hit the Impala either. Big Grin

Nice recipe CDH, bet it works on crats too!

Naw, I don't eat 'coons. Heard they're okay but a fella's got to have some standards, even if they're trivial. Roll Eyes

Carnivore, pull out your map of the Windy State, look about 90 north of Tampa. If that doesn't do the trick, it's just southeast of Crackertown, or about 6 miles north of Red Level. That center of industry is about 17 miles south of Lebanon Station. 15 west of Chatmire? Confused Well, to tell the truth, I've been here long enough I don't rightly know where the Hell this place is!? Somebody said once you could find it by going to Otter Creek then head south 'til you find a stop light. bewildered

I live on a fixed income and was driving with Mrs. Dan one day. Smiler Ol' Blue ran out of gas. Frowner We put him up on blocks and called it home. Wink
