I have just received a crate full of mounts from my last hunt in RSA. The work is done by Taxidermy Africa. I`m very satisified with their work and service. Here`s some pictures. Hope you enjoy. I didn`t want to put them in my regular trophy room yet, because of an insectattack.. Hope to get a nicer environment for them soon.. Smiler

I had the Peacocks do some work for me a couple years ago. They are simply great folks to do business with. I had them do a life size Vaal Rhebok and it is almost identical to the one you show in the photos. Really a neat animal to hunt.

Who did you hunt with? I've done a couple trips to the Eastern Cape with Frank Bowker's Thorn Kloof Safaris. Great safari outfit to go with. The Eastern Cape is a very enjoyable place to hunt, especially if the family is going.

Nice bunch of trophies.

Cheers

Mac

Thanks!
I hunted with Safari International and PH Russell Lovemore (see Hunt report).
We hunted several different concessions from the coastal line surrounding Port Alfred to the mountains around Tarkastad.
Russell and co really has a neat setup down there, and offers all of the species EC contains, and I can really recommend them. The Vaalie was the animal that made us work hardest and gave us some trouble.. Smiler But after 3 1/2 days with connected with this mediocre ram.. In my mind he`s still the most beautiful!
One of the things that the EC really can offer is a diversity, both in number of species and topography. After half an hour on the road the terrain might have changed from heavy bush to plains and into rolling mountains.. It`s gorgeuos!

anders,

that springbok trio is superb. Can't think of a finer way to do the springbokker slam. Just wish I had thought of it.

Excellent trophies Anders and congrats on the Vaallie! I love the Eastern Cape as well, but then again, I love all of Africa. I keep going back. Good hunting, LDK

I like your Rhebok. Congrats on getting them back. I'm sure that's a relief to have them in hand.

Thanks for your kind reply`s! Sorry for my late one.. Smiler
Did you get your trophies, Arild? Please post some pics when you do..
Getting trophies back is a combination of fear and pleasure, at least for me.. Can`t wait to see them, but always afraid that they might be damaged or not as good-looking as I hope..
I`m very satisfied with these ones, I must say.

Have a great trip to EC, buffybr! I hope you succeed as well.. What species are first priority for you? Try for a vaalie! That was my biggest challenge.. Smiler

If I could get a copper springbok next year, my quest for the elegant jumpers is over.. I have a kalahari version from Namibia, and Angola might not open in a few years (Angolan springbok).. Smiler

Anders,

A vallie is on my "list." As is Cape Eland, Cape Kudu, Cape Bushbuck, Bontebuck, and a few other antelope that my PH says are available at the two camps I will be hunting at, and hopefully my third trip will be a charm, and I can find a large tusked Warthog.

46 days and counting!!

All very lovely but that presentation of the Springbok trio is supurb! Congratulations! And thanks for the Val recommendation. I'm thinking in that direction in a couple of years.
