After 35 years of hunting, these are a few of the keepers that seemed important (at the time) to have mounted. Over time, collected 40+ mounts that are spread throughout both our residence and farm get-away. Nothing that would measure up to some of the beautiful examples posted on this site....hope you enjoy them as much as we have.

Hope to have the new trophy/family room finished by fall 2007.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

Big Grin It's a "Were-Deer" or better known as the Were-wolf Killer Deer, can only be killed with a silver bullet to the heart...or is that the vampire deer?...anyway, sort of the deer version of a Jackalope. The funny thing is how many people believe it's an actual deer sub species.

Rembrandt, Very tasteful on the birds and endtables. Love the Killer deer shots and farm basics.

The coffee & lamp tables were custom built by (Jim) Cox Custom Cases, Des Moines, Iowa. http://www.coxcustomcases.com/

Photos don't do justice to the workmanship....I've seen a lot of cheesy display cases featured at Cabela's and other showrooms. Cox cases have precise mitered joints only found on fine quality furniture. The black walnut and spalted maple versions are impressive. Bevel cut glass really sets it off.

Animals in the cases were taken on our farm either by the kids or myself.

Great memories from a lifetime of hunting. I love the coon in the glass case. Now that I have seen it, I will have to get one for myself.
