The delivery showed up Wednesday. They are finally up. I didn't expect this to stir up so many memories for me. I'm very thankful I have them now.

Southern Bush Duiker

Southern Impala and Gemsbok

Greater Kudu (It makes a bear that is 6ft 6inches long look like a cub!)

The end of this month would make it a year.

Honestly, I thought it would be an 18 month wait. I got extremely lucky with a quick turn around from the tannery. Of the folks in the group I was with my stuff didn't make it stateside until 3 months after theirs. Same shipping company. I guess different boats??? Anyhow I ended up being the first one to get his stuff, so go figure. Their turn to wait and wonder I guess. I'm thankful.

They look great and everytime you look at them they will bring back all the memories of your trip.

By the way I saw Mof and Louie last month when I was over there, they are still as crazy as ever. We took blesbok, gemsbok, caracal and waterbuck off his place.

Actually watched Mof play in a local game of rugby, I still have not figured out the rules if there are any.

Yes they remembered you and even commented on how big you are. Louie also mentioned that you told him about your car wreck that all most prevented you from going on your trip.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

Louis' a good guy. He's also an excellent tracker. It was just him and me most of the hunt. I let him use my bow to shoot a big steenbok. I filmed it. It was awesome. I'd love to hunt with him again. We had a ball. He flat knows what he is doing. I think, he got addicted to using my camera. He got darn good at using it too. I gave him copies of all the video and photos we took. Plus I left him a tripod as part of his tip. The only time we had a tracker was the next morning following up on my Kudu. That was merely for insurance because it turned out we could have found him just fine ourselves. The Kudu hadn't made it 150yds from where we stopped the night before.
