I just received my shipment from Africa and thought I would share my trophies. I know there are bigger and better trophy rooms but when you live in a one-bedroom apartment things can get upclose and personal!

I hope you enjoy.

Looking out of the the kitchen.

Nyala

Blue wildebeest

Looking to the right out of the kitchen.

Impala

Oklahoma bobcat (to give you an idea of how big this guy was: he weighed 42 lbs and the mount he is standing on is almost 44 inches long)

Sitting on my couch looking into the kitchen:

Warthog skull mount and blue quail

Pheasant

I also have a phonghorn antelope at the taxidermist right now and a pheasant will be there within the week. I might have to upgrade to a larger apartment!

I hope you enjoyed!

Thanks for sharing.

Nyala are cool, they're high on my list if I can make it back some day.

A very fine trophy room you have there with great animals. I don't know what I am going to do when my African mounts are completed. I am limited to a small space right now while I try to get my dream house built.

The taxidermy work was done by Safari Taxidermy out of Pietersburg, RSA. I have to admit that they far exceeded my expectations and will get more of my business, when I hunt RSA again.

glad you like the pics,

I actually like the pheasant quite a bit. Reminds me of my childhood, and that is what trophy rooms are for - the memories of outdoor adventures. I need to get me a pheasant...

I just got some mounts back from Safari Taxidermy and was a little disappointed. They did a gemsbok shoulder mount and one of the horns hits the wall behind it. My warthog looks like he's blue, not gray. I've been told that their quality went downhill a bit lately. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the founder retired and turned the operations over to another family member. The folks I hunt with said they're planning to start using another taxidermist.

Well, after only about 8 months of waiting my 2005 Oklahoma antelope is complete. I had him done as a wall pedestal and I think he turned out fantastic.

Here he is with my nyala and blue wildebeeste just above the couch in the living room.

Well, this is last of the things I have at the taxidermy shop. It is a good thing hunting season is about to get started up again. I certainly would like to include a nice mature white-tail to the collection. It is really sad that I have African animals and not a single nice white-tail hanging on the wall. I guess the best come to those who wait!

Here is the latest addition. A pheasant I shot back in Oklahoma last fall. I wanted a mount that resembeled something a person would see in north central or western Oklahoma with him perched on top of an old fence post. I think what I wanted was captured very well. I'm thinking about taking him back and having a hen mounted below him.

Hope you enjoy!
