Excellent! Your wall-to-ceiling height must be at least 12'? It's a beautiful trophy room, congratulations. jorge

Nice trophies, but why the dark color on the walls?

VERY nice!

I also noticed the ironwood carvings that appear to be from Mexico maybe? I collect them also. -TONY

Thanks for the nice comments. My dad will be thrilled to here about it.

Jorge, the ceiling is 14' if i'm mistaken, which seems to dwarf some animals. The moose for instance is 68 3/4", but looks a bit smaller on the wall.

AZwriter, the color on the walls is almost the same color of the sand in the Kalahari. The pictures do not quite do it justice. It is beautiful and really makes the animals stand out.

Tony, yes the carvings on the curio cabinet are all from Mexico, but there are a few from Africa as well scattered throughout the room.

Thanks, and I love the color of the walls. Ours used to be that way, until my wife changed it to a "pale custard" (her words not mine!Smiler jorge

Thanks Thornell. Just wondering why you picked that color. I like custard myself.

Hey, what kind of moose is that? Where did you shoot him, and how wide is he?

BTW, that one caribou is outstanding. Having shot 13, I view myself as somewhat of an expert.

Nice to see some waterfowl making it into the trophy room section. Very nice eagle head blue by the Dall.

Nice room. I had a similar color at my last house and it was never captured right in pictures. It came out looking pink or red. The flash really makes it look pink.

That looks like a trophy house. How many walls are in that room?

I have no sense of style I guess. I've got the trophies, but someone else is going to have to layout the room or it's going to look like Hell, I'm sure. Has anyone actually used a third-party to layout a trophy room? I'm worthless when it comes to interior design.

One thing I really don't like is a "trophy" house. I know some guys do it, but I don't. If you don't have a large spare room for a trophy room, there is nothing wrong with using a basement. Having trophies all over the house is no different than living with a woman who collect ceramic dolls and puts them in every room. The problem with many houses today is that they have one "great" room and a very tiny formal living. That is why I am building a house with two great rooms; one will be the trophy room.

We used to have two houses; one had a walk out basement that was my trophy room; probably 660 sq feet. Our house in AZ is quite small; my trophies are in a spare bedroom set up as a home office. The trophies from our other house are in storage until the new one is built.

If you make the only large room in your house a trophy room, I personally think it is good as long as it has a consistent theme. But family pictures next to a kudu head just look out of place to me. But hey, just my opinion.

AZwriter, This room and all trophies are actually my father's. Hopefully I will have a room like it some time. My trophys are actually all in my living room at the moment. The moose is an alaskan-yukon moose shot in the bonanza hills. It measures 68 3/4".

Kensco the room has 4 main walls, but has 2 small wall spaces by the steps. It was originally a garage converted into a trophy room. It is 22'x25' with 14' ceilings.

AZwriter here is another moose pic.

I thought that moose looked pretty good. I have hunted in the Bonanza hills myself.
